Common issues

Pivot joint wear and instability

Pivot joints in arms, buckets, and blade mounts are subject to repeated articulation and impact, causing wear in pins and bore holes over time. This leads to clearance, instability, and reduced control.

Solution: The Expander® System eliminates pivot joint play in high-wear locations such as boom/stick pivots, bucket linkages, and blade lift arms, even when the bores are already worn, no welding or reboring required.

Loosening of tool and edge connections

Tool connections, cutting edges, and bucket teeth often loosen due to high shock loads and dynamic strain from heavy contact with material.

Solution: Nord-Lock® wedge-locking washers secure fasteners on bolt-on tools, bucket teeth, engine mounts, and structural brackets under high vibration and shock. Nord-Lock Wheel nuts are also available to keep wheels secure.
